Roadtrip Accommodations

Do you know of some good places to stay on a particulate hockey roadtrip? Others surely WILL want to know about it!

Waterville Valley -
This seems to be a popular tournament destination. We have been twice. We very much enjoyed Black Bear Inn, we had a loft, which was not too pricey, had a kitchenette, and an indoor/outdoor pool. The staff did not mind the kids running around, and there was a lovely lounge area. You could walk to the rink and shops. - Linda

On the other hand, many in our party rented a condo right next door to the rink (which is a pit by the way), and the condo is a very inexpensive way to go. I think they sleep 10 or so, full kitchen, 2 baths.
The restaurants/bars were expensive, as was the little grocery store, so it made sense to bring food and drinks along, especially for the kids. Definitely bring your liquor of choice (if you decide to indulge).
We really enjoyed the tubing at night, and many of the kids went snowboarding.

If you're heading to Waterville Valley, NH, the Snowy Owl Inn is one of my favorite places on the planet! I always book a room with a loft (second floor), which includes a hot tub. The Inn is rustic (so you feel comfortable putting your feet up on the coffee table, whatever), they have an indoor and outdoor pool, and I've always looked forward to the nightly free cheese, crackers and wine!
